How to Make Pregnancy and Labor Safer, Easier and More Comfortable
Presented by Dr. Maura Fletcher, DC
Did you know you can be more comfortable during your pregnancy? Are you interested in the potential of a faster or easier labor? Would you like to support your body so that your baby can be in the ideal position for birth? Do you want to stay active during your pregnancy? In this class you will learn how chiropractic care can give you answers to all of these questions and more.
Chiropractic care is essential for the pregnant mother. Her systems and organs are now providing for two and their optimal function is critical for the baby’s healthy development. The mother’s spine and pelvis undergoes many changes and adaptations to compensate for the growing baby and the risk of interference to her nervous system is increased. Specific chiropractic care throughout pregnancy works with enhancing nervous system function providing greater health potential for both the mother and baby.
Dr. Maura Fletcher, DC is one of the only chiropractors in Denver caring exclusively for pregnant women. Her post-doctorate certification in prenatal and pediatric care is from the Academy of Family Practice.
She and her husband Dr. Jacob Fletcher, DC own Well Beings Chiropractic Family Health in north Lakewood, CO with a specialty in prenatal, pediatric, and family care. Well Beings Chiropractic has been voted the Best of the Best in the chiropractic category for the last two years.
Feeding the Cave Baby
Presented by Amanda Ogden, BSN, RN, IBCLC
Amanda Ogden is an RN and an IBCLC who has been helping families overcome their breastfeeding challenges for over 20 years. In 2010 she made the shift from working as a hospital Lactation Consultant to opening a private practice. She then co-founded the mama ‘hood, which opened in Denver in February of 2012 and, most-recently, in Boulder in July 2015.
In the three and a half years since the mama ‘hood opened its doors, Amanda’s lactation team has had over 5,000 visits for Breastfeeding Group and seen nearly 900 unique women for private Breastfeeding Consults. The mama ‘hood helps mamas and their families find feeding solutions that work within the unique realities of their lives – the numbers of mamas seen to date illustrates the dedication women have to making breastfeeding work in a culture that has historically made infant feeding challenging.
